The familiar home
It is a place
Where brick and mortar make another building
But for me it gives a much-needed centering
It is a place
Where I live to be myself and belong
Be secure with family and friends, to feel strong
It is a place
Where my story will return
After a new twist at every turn
It is a place
Where I am not alone
I am with memories, that have never blown
It is a place
Where I come and I go
Like a door on a hinge, a mercurial yo-yo
It is a place
Where I can wear my gilded tatters
Where I don’t care about fiscal matters
It is a place
Where it is both a pleasure and a pain
My complex but a familiar domain
It is a place
Where I find my solace
Maybe because of my temple goddess
It is a place
Where all the nooks and corners tell my story
Of my failures and my glory
It is a place
Where everything will continuously adjust
To finally, smell of me and my dust
