The extraordinary window
A common, or an offbeat shape
Straight, curved, gothic or round
But is that all?
Or is it just a hole, placed in a wall
Ah well, is window an interruption?
Or is it obligatory?
Or just a fashionable trend
That perhaps may someday end
Wait, stop
The window has been here forever
Whatever, wherever and whosoever chooses
And it has served many uses
This familiar opening, brings in light
And some fresh air too
It is portal to the outside
Improving mood, energy or whatever you decide
Shared joys and sorrows
Of generations and civilizations
It became their confidante, and also healed
When age old emotions, to it were revealed
So, the window is emotional
For, when I am happy, or I am sad
I stand by it, to see the rain, sun, or a wondering cloud
A tree, or a bird, to find answers in that crowd
So, the window recognizes
The rays that secretly come every morning, deep inside
Moonlight, melodious twitter, or a shooting star
The changing seasons with a promise afar
So, the window knows everything
It’s timelessness, gives a glimpse of my future
And a peep into my past
Takes me on the entire journey, no questions asked
So, the window is an opportunity
An opening to make me soar
In despair, giving confidence in my ability
In fair agreement, for any possibility
A life extraordinary, of a common window
Is not just a hole in a wall
It is a miraculous space
A hope, an anticipation, a trust to be embraced
